I am inspired by the simple moments in my life.  It is those times, the everyday times, in which I feel closest to God and find a sustaining joy and purpose.  My studio work has moved toward embracing these simple moments.

As I have matured both as an artist and a woman I find myself wanting to explore the perfection that can be found in the imperfect and the sacred that can be found in everyday functionality.  I derive much of my inspiration from nature, plant forms, the environment and the individuals that touch my life. It is through these themes that my work also speaks of the connection between the feminine and spiritual, and the strength found in both.

It is easy to see the sacred, the hand of God, in vast sweeping vistas, glorious sunsets and quiet sunrises but so often we miss that same sense of the divine in the everyday and ordinary.  An everyday object becomes simply exquisite when in material and design it is exquisitely simple. A hand-built bowl or mug is practically divine when in usage it is divinely practical.   It is my goal to intertwine the everyday object, both functional and decorative, with the essence of the sacred and its stress on finding richness in the ordinary and beauty in simplicity.
