Use the following as a checklist to make sure that you have all required elements of the application included in your packet:

  • Completed and signed application form.
  • All artists: Five (different) photos of your work, minimum size 4x6, maximum size 8x10. Cd's with digital images are acceptable. Images must be 300dpi ( approx. 1200 x 1800 pixels) and must be larger than 1 MB (slides, links to websites, portfolios, fliers used in advertising, etc will not be considered)
  • Artists must jury annually
  • Work must have been completed within the last two years and cannot be student work.
  • A check/money order for the non-refundable application fee of $10.00 per medium payable to ARTrails, no cash.
  • A signed agreement to abide by the ARTrails guidelines (this is on the application form).
  • A self-addressed stamped envelope.If you would like your photos returned, make sure the SASE envelope is the correct size to return them and the postage attached will cover the cost.

If you wish to jury for additional media, (example: painting and sculpture) enclose five photos and a completed application for each medium you would like to have juried. Include $10 fee for each medium.

Complete jury packet must be received by March 1st 2012.

The decision of the Jury Committee is final.

Guidelines

  • All new members are required to attend the orientation meeting (March 14, 2012 at 7:00 pm).  Information will be included in the membership letter.
  • All Members will have one piece of art ready for photography on March 24, 2012 or supply the Publications Chair with digital image suitable for commercial printing purposes by the same date. Minimum requirements are 300ppi, file size must be greater than 1mb.
  • ARTrails membership includes having your studio open for visitors the third and fourth weekends of September.  Some co-operative locations are available for artists who require alternative space.
  • In addition to displaying and selling their work during the open studio tour, ARTrails members will also demonstrate their processes.
  • The art tour locations are for ARTrails members only.  Non-members are not allowed to display or sell their work at your tour location.
  • All items for sale during the Open Studio Tour must have been produced by ARTrails members.
  • Only media that has been accepted by the Jury Committee may be shown and sold during the Open Studio Tour.
  • ARTrails members must serve on at least one of the ARTrails committees.
  • ARTrails members are expected to attend ARTrails general membership meetings.
  • Membership dues of $85.00 are to be paid at the April general meeting. Members on sabbatical must pay dues of $40.00 by the same date.
  • ARTrails members jury every year
  • The ARTrails Open Studio Tour is limited geographically to Lewis County and a ten mile radius of Lewis County.  ARTrails members working/living outside this boundary are invited to show at the studios of ARTrails members within Lewis County.
  • A full set of Guidelines, By Laws and an ARTrails calendar will be given to participating artists at the April general meeting.
